Swansea University Paediatric Society
SUPS is a student society for healthcare students at Swansea University with an interest in Paediatrics and child health. As a society we hold teaching sessions, simulations, career talks, networking events, and fundraisers throughout the year to help our students explore the Paediatric specialties and network with likeminded students.
This year:
- During the 2021 National Paediatric Fundraising Week we will be fundraising for Tŷ Hafan- a Welsh paediatric palliative care charity. We will be organising a fundraising raffle and quiz- head to our social media to find out more about these events!
Last year:
- We have been involved in National Paediatric Society Fundraising Week (NPSFW) – collaborating with Paediatric Societies all around the UK to raise awareness and funds for Young Minds.
- We hosted the Welsh Student Paediatric Emergency Medicine Conference involving a virtual simulation session as well as talks on common Paediatric emergencies and non-accidental injury.
- We raised £300 for our local chosen charity – the Children’s Wales Air Ambulance Service (CWAA).
- We hosted a Paediatric Careers Night with guest speakers from Neonatology, General Paediatrics, Community Paediatrics, and specialty trainees to give students an insight into the training pathway and some career options in Paediatrics.
